TESDA Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Norayah A. Acas, JD., participated in the 4th Farmers Summit 2023 organized by the LGU Iligan City on October 9, 2023 with the theme “Women in Agriculture-Celebrating Women’s Contributions to Agriculture at the Robinsons Mall in Iligan City.
The two days activity started with the opening program and ribbon cutting ceremony led by no less than the honorable mayor of Iligan City, Mayor Frederick W. Siao. The activity was facilitated by the Focal for Agriculture, Mr Kevin R. Fernan and the City Agriculturist Ma’am Marie J. Beley. Ms. Regie Punongbayan from the Iligan Chamber of Commerce and Datu Madrigal Dianalan II, CTEC of LGU Iligan also participated in the affair.
Part of the celebration is the graduation of 206 TESDA scholars from Venida Farm, Margeuries House of Goodies, Moneerah Skills Training and Assessment Center, Christian Horizon School and MC Skills Traning Center in various qualifications.
Release of training support funds to the scholars were also facilitated much to delight of the graduates.
Various activities were lined up in the two days program seeking to encourage Iliganons to do urban farming and vegetable gardening particularly the women sector for food sufficiency and security.
This is part and parcel of TESDA programs in bringing TESDA sa Barangays kasi sa TESDA Lingap ay Maasahan.
